Back in the mid 90's(1996 I think it was) I purchased an underground boom bap style Hip Hop cassette tape ep that displayed the name "The Bedroom Wizard" with the Oz inspired title of "Off to see the Wizard" The liner notes listed Richmond,VA as the contact 's address so I knew that it was an artist from my city yet there was no photo of the Wizard. I remember playing the hell out of that tape in the car and learning many of the lyrics that flowed over the Wizard's magical beats("So Fresh" being my fav song on the tape)
Several years later (2005) I was in a kinko's store cutting/trimming flyers that advertised my studio services, A guy walked up and picked up one of my flyers, asked a few gear questions and said he was in need of some studio time. He told me his first name, (Fred) but never mentioned the stage name.
Later on that week I recieved a call from the guy (Fred) I met at kinkos and he booked some studio time to track out some beats, and upon setting up the session, his asr 10 etc, I just happened to ask his producer name, and then he said..... "The Bedroom Wizard".......
As you can imagine it is pretty cool meeting and working with someone who's work you had already been a fan of in the past.
We worked toegether several times over the years and both competed in the 2006 Sam Ash Battle Of The Beats.
This page will showcase some of The Bedroom Wizard's classic material and his latest(see below) download beat album (embrace me)
